Dr. Veena Balkrishna Fernandes is an Ayurvedic physician.

Daughter of an Indian father and a Portuguese mother, she was born in the Alps, France – Aix-En-Provence – but grew up in the Monchique Mountains where she spent her teens and studied. He decided to return to his origins, leaving Portugal to take his Ayurvedic medicine course in India and to study deeply one of the oldest medicines in the history of mankind.

The great interest and recognized effectiveness of Ayurvedic treatments has led Veena Balkrishna to deepen her knowledge of this ancient medicine, having graduated in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery from

Gujarat Ayurved University, one of the most reputable in India. He also specializes in Panchakarma therapies – treatments for chronic and / or profound illnesses such as obesity, migraines, psoriasis, stress / anxiety, depression, gastritis, arthritis, osteoporosis, among others – and Rasayana or rejuvenation therapy.

In 2010, he completed the course and took a one-year internship at Shree Gulabkunverba Ayurved Hospital, Jamnagar, which is linked to the same university on the west coast of India. He also acquired specialized training in Recovery Massage at the National Union of Recovery Masseurs and Kinesiotherapists, Lisbon, Portugal (2005) and Panchakarma at the Sidheshwari Research Institute of Ayurvedam, Hyderabad, India (2006). There are also disciplinary areas of his medical education such as Anatomy, Pathology, Physiology, Biomechanics, Electrology / Hydrology, Massage Techniques; General Practice, Panchakarma, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Otorhinolaryngology, Pediatrics and Surgery. Dr. Veena Balkrishna Fernandes currently resides in Portugal where she works as an Ayurvedic Doctor in Monchique, Lagoa, Almancil, Lisbon and Porto.
